The Bannerfield Sculpture Project
Pupils of Philphaugh Primary School, Selkirk explored their local environments with the artists and got really creative inspired by what they discovered. They expressed their positive feelings about living by such amazing natural spaces but also tackled issues such as rubbish, noise and a feeling of danger.
They worked with us on Friday afternoons and during the summer of 2018. The project culminated in the installation of relief panels made by the children in Jesmonite & pewter in their school playground. The installation was celebrated with a community litter pick along the local riverside which has lots of plastic waste. Much more it to be done but these children are now more engaged with the issues and extremely proud of what they have achieved.
