About the event
In this Lino print workshop, we will be learning the basic techniques of cutting and printing with Lino, exploring ways to bring your ideas to life.
We will be looking to Nature and the promising emergence of Spring after the long winter months to inspire our designs. Alternatively please feel free to bring along your own ideas if you like.
Once you have cut your lino you will make a small series of prints. In the spirit of celebrating kindness (Random acts of Kindness day 17.02.24), we would be delighted if you could donate one of your wonderful prints to share in an exhibition to highlight the great work done through the Energise Galashiels Trust.
Come along and share in learning about this great technique that you can use at home in the future without any fancy equipment. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Suitable for all levels of experience and ability. The focus will be on enjoyment of process and learning!
All materials provided.
Teas and coffees will be available free. There will be a lunch break- you can bring your own lunch or there are shops available nearby to purchase refreshments.
Age 16 + (or age 14+ with an accompanying adult)
Carers welcome, only book a place for the accompanying adult only if they are also taking part in the workshop, which is welcomed, otherwise just come along to support..
Please note this venue has doorways that are a bit narrow and could be an issue for wheelchaire users. Do get in touch if you think this could be an issue for you, or if we can help.. We are working on using a more accessible venue in future.
The workshop is FREE and is part of Art'n About in Gala a community arts programme funded by Energise Galashiels Trust, Scottish Borders Council and South of Scotland Enterprise.
